MiWay adjustments coming to Route 110 University Express starting September 7

Serving one of Mississauga’s busiest travel corridors, Route 110 University Express will run more often starting September 7 between City Centre Transit Terminal and Clarkson GO Station. As part of this change, Route 110A University Express will be discontinued, with service merging with Route 110 University Express.

The route helps students, commuters and residents travel between downtown Mississauga, University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM), the Erin Mills community and Clarkson GO Station.

Aligning service on busy routes

MiWay regularly reviews how customers use each route to match service with demand.

The September 7 service changes focus on some of Mississauga’s busiest transit corridors, such as major shopping centres, regional transit hubs, post-secondary institutions and employment districts:

• Square One Shopping Centre
• Burnhamthorpe Community Centre
• Kipling GO station and Clarkson GO station
• UTM, Humber College and Sheridan College
• Meadowvale Business Park and Toronto Pearson International Airport

MiWay is shifting service to where demand is high:

• On weekdays during evening periods to Routes 20 Rathburn, 26 Burnhamthorpe and 53 Kennedy, and during peak periods to Routes 107 Malton Express and 108 Financial Express.
• On weekends during core hours to Routes 3 Bloor, 5 Dixie, 26 Burnhamthorpe, 35 Eglinton, 61 Mavis, 66 McLaughlin, 107 Malton Express and 109 Meadowvale Express.

Due to reduced ridership, MiWay is adjusting the following routes:

• 18 Derry: Frequency will reduce during weekday peak periods to reflect current ridership levels. Customers along the corridor can continue to use Routes 42 Derry and 66 McLaughlin.
• 9 Rathburn: Service to Erindale GO Station will be maintained during weekday morning and afternoon rush hours only, when demand is highest. During midday and late evening, this route will no longer service Erindale GO Station.

School service resumes

As students head back to school this fall, MiWay is bringing back service on routes that support school travel including:

• 44 Mississauga Road
• 126 Burnhamthorpe Express
• All 300-series high school routes

A new route, 305 Streetsville SS, will also be introduced to provide service between Meadowvale Village and Streetsville Secondary School.

Additional trips on regular school routes will be reinstated and adjusted to match updated school bell times and provide more service for students before and after school periods.

Platform and schedule updates

MiWay is introducing platform changes at South Common Centre Bus Terminal and making schedule adjustments on select routes. These changes aim to improve safety and reliability across the transit network.
