COVID-19: Latest news and information

Proof of vaccination

You need to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination to access indoor areas at some City facilities. This is required, with some exemptions, under provincial regulations.

When you must show proof of vaccination

Everyone aged 12 years of age and older needs to provide proof of vaccination when accessing:

  • Sports and fitness facilities for any purpose
  • Banquet halls and community centre meeting rooms used for social gatherings or programs
  • Indoor areas of restaurants
  • Indoor tours at museums
  • Entertainment and cultural venues such as theatres and concert halls

When you don't have to show proof of vaccination

These exemptions are allowed under provincial regulations:

  • Medical exemption, with written documentation supplied by a physician or nurse practitioner indicating medical support for not being fully vaccinated with government-issued ID
  • Youth under 12 years of age
  • Attending a wedding or funeral (service only)
  • Rental space for day camps, childcare or social services (including parents picking up and dropping off)
  • Health and safety social support purposes (warming/cooling centres, shower program access)
  • Mississauga Library locations
  • Living Arts Centre studio (resident artist use only)

How to show proof of vaccination

Every time you enter a City facility that requires proof of vaccination, you must show:

  • Ontario Ministry of Health COVID-19 vaccination receipt or other government issued vaccination record
  • Identification that includes name and birth date, such as health card, driver’s licence or citizenship card. Photo ID is not required

You can download and print your Ontario vaccination receipt from the provincial booking portal. If you need a printer, visit any Mississauga Library location to print a copy of your vaccine receipt for free.

COVID-19 screening

You are also required to submit a screening questionnaire for contract tracing purposes when entering a recreation or culture facility.

The screening questionnaire should be submitted on your mobile device. Contact information is only required for one member per household. Staff will be available to help those who don’t have a mobile device.
