Celebrate Canada’s 150th birthday by giving back in Mississauga. Join the 150 for 150 Volunteer Challenge. The Challenge is a nation-wide movement with the goal to encourage Canadians to volunteer 150 hours of their time in 2017.
“I have always believed that to be Canadian, is to be confident and compassionate,” said Mayor Bonnie Crombie. “I encourage you to show your compassion by volunteering your time and talent as part of the Canada 150 for 150 Volunteer Challenge – a nation-wide call to action.”
Register online for the challenge and start logging your hours at volunteer150for150.ca.
Volunteering offers tremendous benefits not only for the community but also for the volunteer. Engaging in satisfying volunteer work can help you reduce stress, develop new friendships, learn new skills and even advance your career.
The Canada 150 for 150 Volunteer Challenge is one of the many ways Mississauga is celebrating Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation. For more information on Mississauga’s Canada 150 events and programs, visit mississauga.ca/canada150.
