City Announces New Director, Engineering and Construction

The City of Mississauga has appointed Andy Harvey as Director, Engineering and Construction effective April 7, 2014.

Reporting to the Commissioner, Transportation and Works, Martin Powell, Harvey will be responsible for managing all business functions of the Engineering and Construction Division and for championing the City’s transportation priorities.

“Andy will promote technical innovation, collaboration and customer service. He will ensure that the design and construction of our transportation network aligns with the City’s strategic plan – bringing the Strategic Pillar Move to life,” said Powell.  “Andy has been a valued member of the Transportation and Works Department since joining the City of Mississauga in 1993.”

Since 2011, Harvey has been the Manager, Rapid Transit and Parking leading the design/construction/commissioning of the Mississauga Transitway, the preliminary design and transit project assessment process (TPAP) for the Hurontario-Main LRT as well as municipal parking and transportation demand management programs. Prior to this, he held the position of Manager, Traffic Engineering and Operations.

Harvey holds a Masters of Business Administration from York University, is a Civil Engineer from Queen’s University and has his Project Management Professional designation.
