From supporting recreation programs to caring for animals and enhancing green spaces, Mississauga volunteers play an important role in supporting and creating more connected communities.
Local government | April 25, 2025
In 2024, the City of Mississauga had 10,498 volunteers who contributed 113,758 hours of service to numerous programs and activities across the city. During National Volunteer Week (April 27 – May 3), we want to thank and recognize each volunteer’s valuable contributions.
The impact of volunteering is not just about the numbers – it is about the impact on people. A child learning to swim, a senior finding friendship through community programs, or an animal getting a second chance, the contributions of volunteers leave a lasting mark.
