Healthy City Strategy annual update shared with Council
Council endorsed an update on the City’s work to improve health, access to services, and quality of life across Mississauga.

City will begin process to hire a new Integrity Commissioner
Council endorsed a plan to begin hiring a new Integrity Commissioner to oversee ethical conduct at City Hall.
Key points of the report:
- The City will issue a public request for proposals to hire an Integrity Commissioner.
- The role oversees Council ethics, codes of conduct and conflict-of-interest rules.
- The appointment would run until June 30, 2030, with an option to renew the term for up to four more years.
- The change is needed because the current Integrity Commissioner is ending their role in January 2027.

Funding approved to support live music across Mississauga in 2026
Council approved funding to support local concerts and live music events across the city in 2026.

- Council approved $75,000 in funding for the 2026 Live Music Grant program.
- Twenty-eight concert presenters will receive funding through a competitive review process.
- The funding will support live music events at 14 venues across the city.
- Venues include City-owned and privately operated locations.

City prepares for a seamless waste collection transition
Council endorsed a plan to prepare the City to take over waste collection services from the Region of Peel on October 1, 2027. The plan aims to keep curbside service running smoothly for residents.
