Doors Open in Mississauga – Be a Tourist and Explore

Entertainment and activities | September 22, 2015

Doors Open is a playground for the curious. It’s taking place in Mississauga this weekend on Saturday, September 26. If you have ever wanted to explore churches that you are not a member of, museums that you don’t spend enough time in or galleries that you keep meaning to check out, this day was designed for you.

“Now in its twelfth year, Doors Open allows you to explore the city like a tourist. You can discover and appreciate some of Mississauga’s most significant architectural achievements,” said Paul Damaso, Acting Director, Culture Division. “Throughout the day, the community is invited to celebrate Mississauga’s architecture, history and heritage.”

Damaso noted that with the success of the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games in Mississauga, this year’s theme is sport heritage. Four of the city’s sporting destinations will be featured during the one-day event. A complete list of Doors Open Mississauga sites can be found here. All sites are open on Saturday, September 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. unless otherwise noted.
