We’re celebrating the past, present and future of community, programming, learning and fun — including the long-awaited opening of the 25-year time capsule!

25^th anniversary of Frank McKechnie Community Centre and Library

When

Saturday, November 29, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

10 a.m. – Ceremony with Mayor and Members of Council, dignitaries and special guests with opening of the 25-year time capsule.

10:30 a.m. – Free activities and programming begin. Come enjoy:

• cultural performances, dance and broadway beats and community group activations.
• bouncy castles, multi-sport activities, fun swims and fitness try-it classes.
• exploring emergency vehicles, a reptile show and stay and play.
• tasty treats from Maple Lodge Farms.
• free swag bag for the first 200 families!

3 p.m. – Event concludes

Frank McKechnie Community Centre and Library
310 Bristol Rd E, Mississauga

The facility officially opened on June 24, 2000. It’s named in honour of Frank McKechnie, a long-serving Mississauga city councillor, dedicated to service to constituents. He held his Ward 5 seat for almost 39 years before passing away in office in 1997.
