Learn about the new Sustainable Neighbourhood Action Plan (SNAP) while planting native trees and shrubs at Cooksville Park on May 10.
Environment | May 2, 2025
The City of Mississauga, in collaboration with Credit Valley Conservation (CVC), the Region of Peel and local community groups, is celebrating the launch of a new SNAP in the Cooksville neighbourhood. Work on the SNAP began in 2023, with almost 2,400 residents and community members engaging in the process. This resulted in an action plan with five goals and 29 actions, which includes a focus on safe and active mobility, access to fresh food and climate resilience.
To mark this important milestone, the CVC will be hosting a tree planting on Saturday, May 10 at Cooksville Park.
A tree planting event to celebrate the launch of the Cooksville SNAP. Participants are encouraged to dress for the weather and bring a reusable water bottle. Drop-in attendees are welcome to join, as tickets for the event have sold out.
Parking will be available along Frayne Court. CVC staff will meet participants at the Frayne Court entrance to the park.
Saturday, May 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., rain or shine.
This family-friendly event is open to all ages. A light lunch will be provided, and volunteer hours will be available for participants.
