City services | August 22, 2016

Starting on September 5, MiWay will provide more frequent, weekday rush hour service on Mississauga Transitway routes 107 – Malton Express and 109 – Meadowvale Express as part of the MiWay Five Transit Service Plan.

“The added trips means less waiting and helps us deliver on the benefits of the MiWay Five Transit Service Plan, such as more express service between key destinations, more frequent services on main corridors, and wider spans of service,” said Geoff Marinoff, Director of Transit.

Service Improvements

  • Route 107 – Malton Express – Nine week day rush hour trips will be added as well as extended late night service.
  • Route 109 – Meadowvale Express – Nine week day rush hour trips will be added.
  • Routes 5, 7, 19, 35, 42, 66 – Early morning Saturday trips added
  • Routes 7, 20, 26, 34, 66, 110 – Early morning Sunday trips added

Background

MiWay Five is five-year service plan (2016-2020) that is moving Mississauga’s transit system from a design that radiates from the city centre to a grid network that will allow for more frequent buses along main corridors.

The plan allows for more transit service expansion as MiWay prepares for the completion of the Mississauga Transitway in 2017. Eight stations and 12 kilometres of the 18 kilometre transitway are now complete.
