Port Credit Lighthouse Landing Dedication

The Port Credit Lighthouse Landing is dedicated to the memory of Beatrice Moreira-Laidlow, former General Manager of the Port Credit Business Improvement Area (BIA) who passed away on October 11, 2020.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Beatrice worked for the Port Credit BIA for 20 years and was a major part of key initiatives in Port Credit including the Mississauga Waterfront Festival and The Southside Shuffle. She also led the BIA Beautification Portfolio and managed the Port Credit Farmer’s Market.

At the occasion of her passing, the Port Credit BIA stated that, “The spirit, love and infectious smile that Beatrice shared made us all better. She loved Port Credit and cared deeply for the business community and the people that make our Village so special.”

On Saturday, October 3rd, 2020, the Port Credit BIA held a beautiful ribbon cutting ceremony to commemorate the dedication of the Lighthouse landing as “The Queen Bea Lookout”.  Many were in attendance to celebrate Beatrice’s 20 years of service to the Port Credit community including the entire Port Credit Board of Directors, Stephen Dasko, Ward 1 Councillor, Mayor Bonnie Crombie, as well as close friends and family.
