The City of Mississauga actively engages residents in many forms of public consultation throughout the year to gather input on City initiatives, plans, by-laws, programs, services and developments.
Residents and businesses can participate in information sessions, open houses, focus groups, workshops, online engagement and surveys. Feedback collected is combined with other relevant data, inputs and trends to guide how the City spends its time, resources and funds on community priorities.
The Library is inviting local authors, publishers and literary organizations to apply to participate as an exhibitor in the 2026 Mississauga Literary Festival!
The annual Mississauga Literary Festival is a free, public event that brings together readers, writers and community members. Guests can enjoy author talks, panels, workshops, exhibitors and interactive activities. The 2026 festival will take place on Saturday, September 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Hazel McCallion Central Library.
Selected exhibitors will receive a table at the festival free of charge. Applications must be submitted through the online form by May 24, 2026.
Join artist Dennis Lin at Visual Arts Mississauga for a free hands-on workshop, where participants can create a hanging wire mobile using small belongings and tokens to explore balance, memory and personal stories through art-making.
This intimate workshop connects directly to a new public art installation coming to the South Common Community Centre and Library, which will be created from donated objects gathered from the community.
There are two workshop sessions: May 24 and 27. Register for each session through Eventbrite.
The City is expanding parkland in Cooksville to improve access to green space where residents can connect, enjoy the outdoors and be active. Over eight hectares of land are being added to Cooksville Park and Iggy Kaneff Park, creating larger, more connected parkland in the Cooksville area. In 2023, residents shared their feedback on park amenities and features for the two parks, which helped shape the conceptual design for the parks.
Now, residents are invited to review the conceptual design plans and share their feedback. The design plans include the proposed park facilities and features.
Ward 7 residents and those who plan on using the parks are encouraged to review the design plans and share their feedback by Sunday, May 31, 2026. This feedback will inform the final design plans for the parks.
Complete the survey to help shape Cooksville Park and Iggy Kaneff Park.
By following along, you’ll see how your input helps drive positive change and discover how City actions impact your neighbourhood and the broader community.
