The Parks are Alive with the Sound of Music

Starting Sundays from July 6, Meadowvale Theatre will launch their free 2014 Summer Series – bringing live musical performances to Lake Aquitaine Park and Port Credit Memorial Park. Stop by and listen to a performance while enjoying the great outdoors. This is your chance to experience music like never before.

SUMMER MUSIC SERIES 2014 – select Sunday afternoons from 2 to 4 p.m.

Lake Aquitaine Park – 2750 Aquitaine Avenue (East side of park by the soccer field, off Montevideo Rd.)

 July 20 – Frog in Hand (2 to 3 p.m.)
Mississauga-based performance troupe presenting Olympic musical chairs in the park!

• July 27 – Latintrain
A vibrant melting pot of rhythms such as bolero, folkloric and joropo with a strong jazz influence. Lyrics will be sung in both Spanish and English.

• Aug 10 – James Faulkner
A well-seasoned artist who blends folk and blues with jazzy undertones.

• Aug 17 – SHE
Krista Blondin, Maxine Young and Christina Melanie provide a refreshing and versatile sound combining pop, rock, folk and country with excellent three part harmonies.

• July 6 – Carlos Bastidas Trio
Carlos Bastidas performs hot Latin tunes from his latest album “Latin Journey.”

• July 13 – Mississauga Big Band Jazz Ensemble
A group of dedicated musicians celebrating the many styles of big band jazz.

• July 20 – Mississauga Swing Band
An 18-piece big band performing a wide range of music including vocals, swing, standards, Latin, ballads, dance, pop and rock numbers.

• July 27 – The Mississauga Pops
Award-winning musical group engages audiences of all ages with a diverse repertoire of popular music.

• Aug. 3 – Elvis Tribute
Celebrating memories of music, movies and showmanship with a live performance by Davey Kratz.

• Aug. 10 – Broadway Goes Jazz
The Jay Boehmer Trio and friends perform the swinging sounds of Broadway.

• Aug. 24 – David Leask
Music from the Celtic Soul, an award winning singer-songwriter of folk music.

The Meadowvale Theatre is pleased to work in collaboration with the Mississauga Arts Council and the Port Credit Business Association to present these free events.
