Top Five Things To Do Indoors This Winter in Mississauga

Business and innovation | January 19, 2018

As the cold temperature continues, it’s best to avoid the outdoors and opt to stay cozy inside instead. If you’re looking for some things to do indoors, don’t worry, we have five activities in Mississauga perfect for those chilly winter days.

1) Lace Up Your Skates Indoors

Instead of bundling up to bear the cold outside for a skate, come out to one of our indoor skating rinks in the city. Grab a sweater, hat, mitts and lace up those skates for some fun with your family and friends. To find out more about our arenas, visit mississauga.ca/portal/residents/Arenas.

2) Catch a Live Performance

If you’re a fan of theatre, catch a show at the Meadowvale Theatre. This winter season, you can watch the reimagined Biblical story of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, enjoy the adventures of Jillian Jiggs with the little ones, catch the beautiful ballet of Anastasia and many more. For a full list of shows, visit culture.mississauga.ca/meadowvale-theatre.

3) Get Cultured

Head back in time with a visit to the heritage houses in Mississauga to explore how life was like back in the 1800s. If you’re interested in the history of quilting, you can also catch the A Thread and A Story exhibition at Bradley Museum and Benares Historic House which runs until February 25. The free exhibition shares stories and traditions from the age-old practice of quilt making. To learn more about the Museums of Mississauga, visit culture.mississauga.ca/museums.
