Upcoming MiWay Service Changes and 2021 Fares

City services | December 8, 2020

MiWay will be implementing planned service changes over the next few weeks in response to reduced service demands over the holiday season and changes in ridership.

In 2021, MiWay fares will remain unchanged and customers are encouraged to use PRESTO as a contactless form of payment. As of January 1, 2021, paper tickets will no longer be accepted.

Service Changes

Holiday service changes starting December 21, 2020:
Starting Monday, December 21, 2020 to Sunday, January 3, 2021, MiWay schedules will be adjusted and customer service hours will be modified. Some routes will operate with less frequent weekday service (based on reduced customer demand) and some routes will not operate during this time.

MiWay will continue to provide regular Saturday and Sunday service on weekends. Extended evening service and free rides on New Year’s Eve will not be offered due to COVID-19 restrictions on social gatherings.

Service changes starting January 4, 2021:
MiWay is implementing service changes that include schedule changes on various routes to respond to ridership demand and to improve GO service connections. Some school routes (300-series) will resume. MiWay continues to monitor service demand during the COVID-19 Grey-Lockdown level. For details, visit miway.ca/Jan4.

As of January 1, 2021, paper tickets will no longer be accepted. They are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged. MiWay will continue to accept Special Purpose tickets, which are used by school boards, food banks, and social services clients.
