Gowan is celebrating the 40th Anniversary of the release Strange Animal.
Born in Glasgow and raised in Canada, Lawrence Gowan is one of the country’s most iconic and accomplished rock artists. Prior to joining Styx in 1999 as keyboardist and lead vocalist, he enjoyed a hugely successful solo career, earning four Platinum and three Gold albums. A classically trained pianist, Gowan achieved an ARCT from Toronto’s Royal Conservatory of Music at just 19.
His breakthrough album “Strange Animal” went triple‑platinum in Canada, featuring the enduring hit “A Criminal Mind,” which won the Juno Award for Best Video. Gowan’s recordings include collaborations with members of Yes, Rush, King Crimson, and Peter Gabriel. As a member of Styx, he has recorded multiple albums and toured the world extensively, performing more than 1,600 shows. Experience a true Canadian music legend live on stage.
