Fred Halliday Park

The City is proposing park improvements to Fred Halliday Park.

Overview

The City is proposing adding outdoor fitness equipment to Fred Halliday Park (Ward 1). Funding by the Government of Canada has been allocated for this project by the Ward 1 Councillor. The park improvements are expected to be completed in 2022.

The outdoor fitness area will include the following features:

  • Stationary fitness equipment
  • Instructional exercise signage
  • Safety surfacing
  • Accessible connections to existing park trails

These improvements will enhance visitors’ experiences in the park and provide outdoor recreation and fitness opportunities in support of active lifestyles. Outdoor fitness is a supported use within the City’s Parks and Forestry Future Directions Master Plan (2019).
