Apply for a vehicle brokerage licence

You must have a vehicle brokerage licence in Mississauga if your business is transporting passengers between two locations of their choice, such as taxi or airport transportation vehicle brokerages.

Your licence expires every year on:

  • February 28 for taxi brokerages
  • March 31 for airport transportation vehicle brokerages

A renewal notice will be sent to the email address on file. If no email is available, it’ll be mailed to you.

Requirements

You must maintain an office within the city from which the brokerage is operated and provide the following:

  • Proof that the location of your business complies with the Zoning By-law, such as a Zoning Certificate of Occupancy
  • Articles of incorporation or business registration documents
  • A federal radio licence, if applicable
  • A copy of brokerage rules and procedures including terms and conditions of payment to drivers
  • A sample or image of your roof light or decal, if applicable

Licence fees

A new licence costs $597.93.

A licence renewal costs $557.13.

How to apply or renew

You can apply for or renew your licence in person or by mail. Only complete applications will be reviewed.

In person

  1. Complete the Owner Licence Application or Licence Renewal Application.
  2. Gather the required documents and approvals.
  3. Book an appointment for a new licence or licence renewal.
  4. Bring your application and required documents to your appointment.
  5. Pay the licence fees.

By mail

Mail your completed Owner Licence Application or Licence Renewal Application, the required documents and a cheque payable to the City of Mississauga in the amount of the licence fee to:
