Looking for fun and interactive activities this month in Mississauga? Whether you are new to cycling or a seasoned rider, the City is offering free cycling activities for all ages and levels of experience throughout the month of June. Events include getting a bike tune-up, learning about cycling safety, Community Rides and participating in the City’s Bike Challenge.

Why participate? Cycling is a great way to get fresh air, exercise, boost your mood and explore the city.

Bike Month Fix-It events

The City is offering free bike checks and tune-ups from a bike mechanic. Checks can include the basic ABC check (air, brakes/bell and chain/crank arm) and other basic repair needs like flat tire fixes.

Every Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m., keep an eye out for the blue Mississauga pop-up tent at the following locations:

A person wearing an apron and gloves repairs a bicycle mounted on a stand under a blue canopy at an outdoor setup, with tools and bags on the ground nearby.

Bike workshops

Introduction to Basic Bike Repairs workshops will teach you about the different parts of the bike and some common tools and techniques. At the end of the workshop, you will learn how to complete an ABC (air, brakes/bell and chain/crank arm) check.

Community Rides

The City is hosting free, guided community bike rides in different neighbourhoods every two weeks between May and October. These Community Rides allow riders to get more comfortable on their bike, experience Mississauga’s cycling infrastructure and meet others in the community.

June’s Community Rides

A group of cyclists wearing helmets and high-visibility vests gather with their bikes in a sunny public square for a community ride, listening to a speaker near a brick monument and nearby storefronts.

City Bike Challenge

The Bike Challenge is a fun way to get active while giving back to your community. To participate, simply log the kilometres you ride on your bike from now until Wednesday, September 30. Your entry will be added to the total. For every 50 kilometres you log, the City will plant one tree to count towards the One Million Trees program. You can log your distance online.

Other events during Bike Month

Bike the Creek, June 13: Bike the Creek is a free event designed to inspire people of all ages and abilities to discover the joy of cycling. More than just a ride, Bike the Creek is a community-driven celebration of active transportation, healthy living and environmental sustainability.

Bike to School Week

Organized by the Region of Peel, Bike to School Week this year is taking place between May 25 and June 26, 2026. Participating schools choose which week works best to celebrate biking to school. This initiative promotes active transportation for students who wish to get outside and get active, improved health and well-being, and reduced carbon emissions.

The City has a School Walking Routes Program to encourage walking, cycling or rolling to and from school. Use the map created for your school to plan your route.

Plan your bike route

Whether you prefer wooded trails, waterfront views or riding your bike as your main form of transportation, there’s a trail for everyone. Use Mississauga’s cycling map to find trails and new ideas on where to cycle.
