A winter weather system is expected to impact Mississauga on Wednesday, February 18, bringing a mix of snow, ice pellets and freezing rain that could create hazardous conditions throughout the day.
With more than 2,000 parking infractions issued to date, the City’s new Citywide Winter Parking Restriction is making snow clearing safer and more efficient in Mississauga.
Even with careful planning, winter conditions can still leave you stranded. Being prepared can help keep you and your family safe if your vehicle becomes stuck or conditions suddenly worsen.
New services are aimed at improving mobility during the winter. The City will clear 134,000 residential driveway windrows and all Mississauga sidewalks, as well as introduce citywide winter parking restrictions.
Stay proactive this winter by clearing your driveway and sidewalks regularly to prevent snow build-up and icy conditions. Remember to monitor temperatures, take breaks while shovelling, and be a good neighbour by helping others in your community to ensure everyone's safety and accessibility during snowy weather.
Snow happens and are a few important things to remember when it snows.
