Mississauga is taking action to make more housing available for families, older adults, students and others who want to live in the City’s low-rise neighbourhoods.
Ontario is facing a significant housing crisis that makes renting or owning a home out of reach for many. Increasing the supply and variety of homes across Mississauga through gentle density is a primary action in the City’s Housing Action Plan.
On Monday, October 23, staff will update Planning and Development Committee on work underway to address the need for more housing options in neighbourhoods:

Watch the live stream on the City’s website (without registering) or join in person at City Hall. Advance registration is required to participate and/or make a comment virtually during the meeting. Advance registration is preferred to participate and/or make a comment in person.

These changes stem from the City’s Increasing Housing Choices in Neighbourhoods study, which began in April 2021.
