Ready, Set, Make with Free MakerFest Activities

Entertainment and activities | May 6, 2021

On May 14 and 15, Mississauga Library and Brampton Library are jointly hosting their first online MakerFest, which builds upon their respective maker programs. These maker programs strive to help residents develop their science, technology, engineering, art and math (STEAM) skills. This year, MakerFest brings a variety of online, interactive activities to youth and adults with a passion for STEAM. The collaborative approach allows more residents to access the activities, experts and opportunities to connect with the broader STEAM and maker community.

No prior experience is needed to participate in MakerFest activities. They explore a variety of topics, including robotics, fabrication, mobile app development, traditional Indigenous technologies, astronomy and more. The activities will connect participants to experts in the STEAM field and others in the STEAM and maker community, as well as provide opportunities to engage, ask questions and experience live demonstrations.

All online MakerFest activities are free with registration. Participants do not need a library card from Mississauga Library or Brampton Library to register.
