Mississauga is a popular destination for couples looking to celebrate their wedding day. With various venues available year-round, couples can easily plan their special day at City Hall – there’s the Civic Centre Chapel, and a reception venue, C Banquets, many memorable backdrops for photos and videos and lots of convenient parking for guests.

Getting your marriage licence

To get started, couples must obtain an Ontario Marriage Licence. This can be done by completing an application form online and visiting the City Clerk’s Office at the Civic Centre (300 City Centre Dr.) to finalize the licence.

Apply for a marriage licence.

Booking a civil marriage ceremony at City Hall

For officiant availability or to book a consultation, please contact the Clerk’s Office. After submitting your request, you’ll receive a call within two business days to finalize your marriage details.

For those seeking a flexible, simple and cost-effective wedding option, the City Clerk’s Office offers Civil Marriage Ceremonies in the Civic Centre Chapel (indoors) or the Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Garden (outdoors). These ceremonies are available Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. (the last ceremony starts at 3:30 p.m.).

Civic Centre Chapel (300 City Centre Dr.)

Mississauga City Hall has an elegant chapel located on the second floor. It’s a beautiful, intimate, and convenient venue with a stunning mosaic window and private bridal suite, perfect for your unforgettable day.

Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Garden (300 City Centre Dr.)

Queen Elizabeth II Jubilee Garden is a small, peaceful green space beside City Hall, which features gravel walking paths, benches, mature shade trees, shrubs, and seasonal flower beds. The beautiful, quiet, calm space is perfect especially for weddings, photography, and portraits – weather dependent.
To book these locations, you’ll need to provide your valid Ontario Marriage Licence number and the date and location where the licence was purchased.

Civil marriage ceremony fee

The total fee for the civil marriage ceremony and consultation is $391.04 (tax included) and is paid at the consultation.

This fee does not include the cost for the location where the ceremony will be held. There is a separate fee for the location, which you can pay when you book a rental facility (chapel or garden) after discussing the date and time of your ceremony with City staff. Applicable fees and taxes are subject to change without notice.
