These new amenities will provide water play opportunities and enhance visitors’ experiences in these parks, as well as provide relief in the summer from extreme heat events.
Works are tentatively scheduled to start in spring 2021. The development of the Lisgar Green and Mississauga-Meadowvale Rotary Park spray pads are made possible by the Federal Gas Tax Fund. Spray pads are a supported use within the City’s Parks and Forestry Future Directions Master Plan (2019).
The spray pads will include the following features:
- Accessible-for-all spray pad with ground level and vertical spray features
- Umbrella tables
These spray pads will be designed to meet accessibility standards, making them safe and inclusive for all.

When does construction start?
Construction is tentatively scheduled to start in spring 2021.
How long will the spray pads take to build?
The spray pads will take approximately six weeks to construct pending any unforeseen issues.
What time of year do spray pads open?
Typically, spray pads are open by the May long weekend for public use and close around the last week of September. However, these timelines are weather dependent.
