COVID-19: latest updates on the City's response and service impacts
Official Plans
Mississauga Official Plan will guide the city's growth and development to the year 2031. Its land use policy framework will help to build the Mississauga envisioned in the City's Strategic Plan.
The Plan's policies are designed to manage and direct the next stage of the city's growth - redevelopment and intensification. They will help the city adapt to the effects of growth on the social, economic, cultural and natural environment.
The Official Plan, required by the provincial Planning Act, includes important information for the public, land use planners, builders and developers. It provides the basis for detailed land use designations and urban design policies, and sets the context for the review and approval of development applications.

Mississauga Official Plan is consistent with the Provincial Policy Statement and conforms to the Growth Plan for the Greater Golden Horseshoe. The Province has delegated approval authority of Mississauga Official Plan and amendments to the Region of Peel. Policies of Mississauga Official Plan conform to the Region of Peel Official Plan.
