Pay property tax

You can pay your property taxes online, at a bank, by mail or through the pre-authorized tax payment plan.

Payment options

You can enrol in the pre-authorized tax payment (PTP) plan to have your property taxes automatically withdrawn from your bank account. Property taxes can be set up to be withdrawn monthly or on regular instalment due dates.

To enrol in the PTP plan, you must not have any overdue taxes.

If you move, remove owners or buy a new property, you will need to complete a new PTP application form. Your PTP is cancelled once property ownership is updated.

Enrol in PTP plan

You can enrol in the PTP plan online or by submitting a completed PTP application and void cheque to the City:

  • Email: tax@mississauga.ca
  • Mail: City of Mississauga Tax Office, 300 City Centre Drive, Floor 11, Mississauga, ON L5B 3C1
  • Drop box:
    • Outside the Civic Centre, to the right of the North Entrance on Princess Royal Drive
    • Inside the Civic Centre, on the ground floor near the Welcome Desk

Change or cancel PTP plan

To change your withdrawal date or bank account information:

You can pay your property taxes at a bank or other financial institution such as a credit union or trust company using the services they offer.

To pay online, use your property roll number as the account number.

If you sell and buy a new property, you will have a different property roll number and will need to update it for your online payments. If you do not update your roll number your payments will be applied to your old property.

To avoid late payment charges, give the bank enough time to process your payment; this can be up to five business days.

Drop off your cheque payment at one of our drop boxes at the Civic Centre.

Make sure you write your property roll number on your cheque, make it payable to Mississauga Taxes and that it’s in a sealed envelope.

Your cheque payment will be processed the next business day.

Drop box locations:

  • Outside the Civic Centre, to the right of the North Entrance on Princess Royal Drive
  • Inside the Civic Centre, on the ground floor near the Welcome Desk

Write your property roll number on a cheque payable to Mississauga Taxes. Send the cheque and your tax stub from the bill in a sealed envelope to:

The City of Mississauga does not accept direct credit card payments for property taxes. However, you can pay with your credit card through a third-party service provider.

The service provider may charge service fees and there may be restrictions on the types of credit cards accepted. The City only receives the billed tax amount and is not responsible for the service charges set by your service provider.

The City processes payments on the date they are received, which could be a few days after you make the payment. Check your service provider’s terms and conditions for their service, charges and payment processing time.

To avoid late payment charges, plan for enough time to process your payment.
