Learn water safety tips at a pool near you during National Drowning Prevention Week

Entertainment and activities | July 17, 2023

July 16 to 22, 2023 is National Drowning Prevention Week across Canada and Mississauga is hosting free Fun Swims at select pools this Wednesday. The City’s Aquatics staff will also be on site with fun activities to help educate families about water safety!

According to the Lifesaving Society, a national charitable organization that works to prevent drowning and water-related injuries, over 400 Canadians die in preventable water-related incidents annually. Let’s commit to keeping children and families safe in the water this summer and beyond. Making a splash at pools, lakes, rivers, beaches should be a positive experience for everyone and water safety is essential.
