Mississauga Urban Design Awards: People’s Choice Awards are Now Open for Voting

Submissions are in. The jury has been selected. It’s finally time to vote in the 2023 Mississauga Urban Design Awards for the People’s Choice Award! Mississauga’s Urban Design Awards are a celebration of excellence for innovative, dynamic, trendsetting urban design projects that are transforming Mississauga.

People’s Choice Award

You can get involved and vote for your favourite urban design project to receive the People’s Choice Award. All projects nominated for the 2023 Mississauga Urban Design Awards are eligible for the People’s Choice Award. Visit mississauga.ca/urbandesignawards to view the submissions and vote (you don’t need to be a Mississauga resident, or a certain age to participate). With nearly two dozen projects to choose from, the decision will not be easy!

Select your favourite project by clicking the vote button under the corresponding image. Only one vote is allowed per person, so choose wisely. There are three types of projects to consider:

• Urban Elements – a standalone object that contributes to the quality of the public realm
• Private Projects – a building or group of buildings that achieve urban design excellence
• Public Projects – a building or group of buildings that are accessible and serve the public

Not sure who to vote for?

Consider visiting the nominated sites throughout the summer. Stay tuned to the City’s Instagram account (@citymississauga) where the City will be featuring eligible projects over the summer. Voting is open until Sunday, July 30, 2023.

Winners will be announced on Thursday, September 21, 2023.
