In progress City project

Improving Bert Fleming Park

The City is expanding Bert Fleming Park and wants your feedback on the conceptual park design and programming.

Overview

Through the completion of The Credit Woodlands Integrated Road Project, the City will expand Bert Fleming Park by approximately 0.5 acres. New pedestrian crossings and sidewalks will also connect residents to the surrounding neighbourhood.

The City is planning to add new facilities, amenities and features to upgrade Bert Fleming Park into a neighbourhood hub where residents can gather, play and connect with nature.

These enhancements help promote community well-being, strengthen neighbourhood connections and provide accessible opportunities for residents of all ages.

Public engagement

In Spring 2026, the City held a survey and community open house to gather feedback on the conceptual park design and understand what features and activities residents would like to see at Bert Fleming Park.

The Closing the Loop Summary highlights the key findings received from residents on the concept plan and park programming. Based on this feedback, it is recommended that the concept plan and programming be revised to focus on the facilities, amenities and features that the residents highly supported. The revised concept plan will balance different community interests by prioritizing passive experiences such as natural areas, park trails and open lawn areas, active experiences such as the children’s play area and community gathering spaces including seating.

Subject to a review of feasibility, capital budget and alignment with the Parks, Forestry and Environment 2024 Future Directions Plan, a revised concept plan will be developed and shared with residents in Fall 2026 for future feedback.
