In progress City project

Second Line West Fitness Trail

The City is proposing fitness improvements to the multi-use trail at Second Line West between Sombrero Way and Donway Drive (Ward 11).

The fitness improvements are funded, in part, by the Government of Canada and will be completed in 2023.

The fitness trail will span under 1 km and include the following features:

  • Bench fitness stations
  • Sprint track
  • Trail distance markings
  • Fitness obstacle course, the first in Mississauga
  • Seating
  • Interpretive signage and seating area at Fletcher’s Creek pedestrian bridge crossing
  • Bike parking
  • Bike repair station

These improvements will enhance visitors’ experiences along the trail and provide outdoor recreation and fitness opportunities in support of active lifestyles. Outdoor fitness is a supported use within the City’s Parks and Forestry Future Directions Master Plan (2019).

Activities can include stretching, rotating, balancing and repetition to challenge strength, speed, endurance and agility.
