CITIZEN APPOINTMENTS TO CITY OF MISSISSAUGA ADVISORY COMMITTEES
Joining a City committee is a unique opportunity to contribute to your community! The City of Mississauga is currently seeking citizens interested in volunteer opportunities to serve on the following committees of Council:
ACCESSIBILITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE (1 vacancy)
The Mississauga Accessibility Advisory Committee advises, recommends and assists the City in promoting and facilitating a barrier-free Mississauga for citizens of all abilities (universal accessibility), including persons with disabilities.
ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION COMMITTEE (1 vacancy)
The Mississauga Environmental Action Committee is an advisory committee of Council established to offer advice and recommendations to Council in support of environmental direction in the Strategic Plan and the Living Green Master Plan and to champion local action to address environmental issues.
HERITAGE ADVISORY COMMITTEE (1 vacancy)
The Heritage Advisory Committee is an advisory committee established to make recommendations to Council on the identification, conservation and preservation of Mississauga's cultural heritage properties, including heritage designations.
MISSISSAUGA CYCLING ADVISORY COMMITTEE (2 vacancies)
The Mississauga Cycling Advisory Committee responsibilities align with the goals of the Cycling Master Plan, to foster a culture where cycling is an everyday activity, build an integrated on-road and off-road cycling network as part of a multi-modal transportation system, and to adopt a "safety-first" approach for cycling in Mississauga.
MUSEUMS OF MISSISSAUGA ADVISORY COMMITTEE (1 vacancy)
The Museums of Mississauga Advisory Committee provides input, advice and guidance to Council with respect to policy issues related to artifact collections and the future city-wide museum.
- Canadian Citizen;
- Mississauga resident and/or business owner; and
- Minimum 18 years of age.
Employees of the City of Mississauga or Region of Peel are not eligible for appointment.
