Tree
Planting - Volunteers Needed
Get involved in a planting project to enhance wildlife habitat, improve the quality of our
environment, and add beauty to your neighbourhood. Local schools, community groups, faith based
groups and businesses are all welcome to take part. Community events can be booked for groups
of all sizes, ages, and skill levels. For information call 3-1-1. If outside city limits call

Bike Planter Program
The Bike planter pilot program matched a dedicated group or individual who were willing
to adopt the bike planter. Volunteers were responsible for painting the bike, providing the
plants for the basket and caring for the plants including watering, fertilization and changing
plant materials appropriate for the season. This program is currently in the pilot stage and
not accepting any new requests. For information call 3-1-1. If outside city limits call

Park Murals
Mural paintings can transform a less than desirable space into a bright, inviting space
in our outdoor spaces. The City is willing to work with interested individuals or groups who
wish to contribute towards these transformations. For information call 3-1-1. If outside city

Tree Sculpture
Program
The City has a sponsor - dependent community tree sculpture program that transforms damaged or
expired trees into carvings of wildlife or natural heritage themes that relate to the community

Community
Gardens
A community garden is a shared space where people come together to grow plants, friendships and
community! Mississauga has 4 community gardens; Valley Garden at Mississauga Valley Community
Centre 1275 Mississauga Valley Blvd, Hillside Garden in Clarkson at 1311 Kelly Road, Malton
Garden at Malton Community Centre at 3540 Morning Star Drive and Generation Garden at Parkway
Green Park 4215 Central Parkway East. If you are interested in participating, reserving a
garden bed, or finding our more information please call 905-274-6222 or email communitygardens@ecosource.ca. To speak to

Tree or Park Bench
Program
You can purchase a park bench or tree dedicated to someone special and have it installed on
public lands in a park or near a trail. Your gift of a tree provides an important natural
element and your gift of a bench provides a seating area for people to rest while enjoying our

Parks and Forestry
Community Stewardship Program
The Mississauga Parks and Forestry Community Stewardship Program (PFCSP) has been
established as a way for volunteers to enhance City parks, natural areas and open spaces on a
volunteer basis. It is an opportunity for environmentally conscious and community-minded
citizens to make a personal contribution to the quality of life in the City. Participants
indicate their commitment through a written agreement and work with the approval and guidance
