The City offers property tax rebates for eligible seniors (65 years and older) with low incomes and people with disabilities with low incomes.
You may be eligible for a property tax rebate if either you or your spouse meet the following conditions:
You must submit an application every year. The deadline to apply is December 31 of each year.
The City will not accept applications for previous years, as per the tax rebate by-law.
Submit the completed tax rebate application form and supporting documentation:
If you receive GIS benefits, you must include a copy of your previous year’s Statement of Old Age Security (T4A (OAS) slip), showing your OAS payments, including the amount in Box 21.
If you qualify for the property tax rebate, you automatically qualify for the stormwater charge subsidy.
If you own a single-family home, the subsidy amount will be credited to your Region of Peel water bill
If you own a condominium, the City will mail you a cheque.
If you’re at least 65 years old and earn low to moderate income, you can apply for Ontario’s Senior Homeowners’ Property Tax Grant program.
