Mississauga has more than 480 parks and woodlands for you to discover. Some parks provide a serene and tranquil setting where you can enjoy passive recreational pursuits while others boast a variety of active recreational facilities.
Mississauga lakefront parks are becoming the jewels of the waterfront. The City has been developing and upgrading lakefront parks for many years. Many of our lakefront parks feature a variety of facilities and opportunities for recreational activities including: trails for hiking, cycling and in-line skating; splash pads; fishing opportunities; beach volleyball; photo opportunities and large open spaces suitable for a variety of recreational activities.
Every year more than 200,000 people enjoy picnic areas in Mississauga's major picnic parks. Our picnic parks offer the perfect place to host your next family or company picnic. Large open space provide an excellent opportunity for group recreational activities.
Groups of 25 or less are welcome to use our picnic areas without having to obtain a permit. However groups in excess of 25 are required to obtain a Park Permit. Park permits are also required for all wedding photography. Obtaining a picnic permit ensures that the area you booked is available. Check out the park permits page for more information on how to reserve a picnic area.
Mississauga's extensive trail system offers everyone the perfect way to get active. Trails can be used for walking, cycling, jogging, inline skating and even cross country skiing during the winter months. Check out the trails & cycling page for more information on trails in Mississauga.
