To apply for a limousine driver’s licence you’ll need to submit:
- A Driver/Operator Licence Application
- Proof that you’re at least 18 years old
- Proof of Canadian Citizenship, landed immigrant status or a valid work permit
- Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence, class G minimum
- Ontario driver’s record completed in the last 30 days
- Original criminal record search completed in the last 30 days
- A photo of you. We’ll take your photo when you apply in person.

Applying for a new limousine driver’s licence will cost $234.81. This includes:

Renewing a limo driver’s licence
Your licence will expire every year on your birthday. A renewal notice will be mailed to the address we have on file for you.
To renew your licence you’ll need to submit the following documents and pay the renewal fee:
- A Licence Renewal Application
- Valid Ontario Driver’s Licence, Class G minimum
- Ontario Driver’s record (provided by the Mobile Licensing Office and included in your renewal fee)
- Original criminal record search completed within 30 days of the renewal date
The fee to renew your licence is $175. If you pay the renewal fee more than 10 business days after your licence expiry date there will be an additional fee of $90.68.
If you don’t renew your licence within one year of the expiry date, you’ll have to reapply as a new applicant.
To apply for a Class A or Class B limousine owner’s licence you’ll need to submit:
- An Owner Licence Application
- Articles of Incorporation or business registration documents
- Proof that the location of your limousine business complies with the Zoning By-law, such as a Zoning Certificate of Occupancy
- A schedule of hourly fare rates
- Provincial vehicle permit from the Ministry of Transportation
- Original criminal record search completed in the last 60 days
- Lease agreement, if vehicle is leased
- Certificate of insurance with a minimum $2 million coverage and endorsed to the City of Mississauga
- A copy of the Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance Card and either:
- A Ministry of Transportation Vehicle Inspection report that shows vehicle has been accepted within 60 days
- A Safety Standard Certificate issued within 60 days
- A City of Toronto Vehicle Inspection Report/Livery Cab Fitness Report issued within 60 days
Your vehicle must be inspected at the Mobile Licensing Office before your licence can be issued.

A Class A or Class B licence will cost $479.
Renewing an owner’s licence
Your licence will expire annually on September 30. A renewal notice will be mailed to the address we have on file for you.
To renew your licence you’ll need to submit the following documents and pay the renewal fee:
- A Licence Renewal Application
- Valid Master Business Name Registration, if applicable
- Valid Zoning Certificate of Occupancy must be on file
- Original criminal record search completed within 60 days of the renewal date
- Certificate of Insurance endorsed to the City of Mississauga
- Provincial ownership of vehicle
- Safety Standard Certificate or a City of Toronto Vehicle Inspection Report/Livery Cab Fitness Report issued within 60 days
The fee to renew your licence is $405. If you pay the renewal fee more than 10 business days after your licence expiry date there will be an additional fee of $90.68.
Limousine operators who are not licensed in the City of Mississauga but want to operate in Mississauga on a specific day need to apply for a special occasion limousine licence.
To apply for a special occasion limousine licence you’ll need to submit:
- An Owner Licence Application. This must be completed by the business owner, partner, president or an authorized agent.
- A municipal limousine owner’s licence from another municipality, or a copy of the provincial vehicle permit
- Articles of incorporation and/or business registration documents
- Certificate of insurance with a minimum $2 million coverage and endorsed to the City of Mississauga
- A copy of the Motor Vehicle Liability Insurance Card and either:
- A Ministry of Transportation Vehicle Inspection report that shows vehicle has been accepted within 60 days
- A Safety Standard Certificate issued within 60 days
- A City of Toronto Vehicle Inspection Report/Livery Cab Fitness Report issued within 60 days
- A contract or itinerary outlining the type of occasions and duration, dates and times of service for the limo
Licence fees
The fee for a special occasion limo licensed in another City is $38.
The fee for a special occasion limo not licensed in another municipality is $50.
