COVID-19: Latest news and information

Mobile business licensing

City Council has passed a motion deferring all 2021 mobile licences for 120 days. For example, if your licence expired on February 28, 2021, you will not have to renew it until June 28, 2021.
The Mobile Licensing Office is open by appointment only. Appropriate health and safety protocols are in place. Book an appointment

If your business operates outdoors, such as a tow truck, ice cream truck, food truck, refreshment cart, driving school or parking lot, it’s considered a mobile business.

Vehicles used by the general public like taxicabs and limousines are also considered mobile businesses. There are different licence requirements for owners and drivers.

How to apply for a mobile business licence

Make an appointment to submit your documents in person to the Mobile Licensing Office, located on the ground floor at 3235 Mavis Road.

You’ll only be admitted to the building if you have a scheduled appointment. Only one person may attend the appointment. If you’re late by 10 minutes or more, your appointment will be cancelled and you’ll need to reschedule.

Completing an application may not guarantee a licence. Vehicle inspections or site inspections may also be required.

If you have any questions about licence requirements, call 311 (905-615-4311 outside City limits) or contact us online.
